Scope of delivery:

  • 50 mL adhesive cartridge (25 mL hardener & 25 mL epoxy resin) , 2 mixing tubes
  • 100 mL adhesive tube (50 mL hardener & 50 mL epoxy resin)

Application:

1. Check surface tension
Before starting the application of the adhesive, the suitability of the surface needs to be checked. The required surface tension measurement can be carried out very easily with our Test Pen.

2. Preparing the gluing area:
For a perfect bonding result, the gluing area has to be grain- and dust-free. Therefore, clean the surface with e.g. acetone or isopropanol before application.

3. Mix the adhesive:
Catdridge (50 ml):
Remove the cartridge cap, put on the mixing tube and insert the plunger for the cartridge. The first drop that comes out of the mixing tube should not be used, as the components may not be perfectly mixed yet. The adhesive can be applied with e.g. a spatula or with the tip of the catridge now.

Tube (100 ml):
Use an electric scale to weigh the two components in the ratio 100 : 86 (resin : hardener). Both components have different color and shading, so it is easy to see if they are mixed properly. Mix the two components until a homogeneous result is obtained. Either add the adhesive to an adhesive cartridge (if available) and continue as explained above, or apply the adhesive mixture to the desired area using e.g. a wooden spatula.
4. Dosage of the adhesive:

Respective of the shape of the gluing area, the glue should be applied as follows:

With a round gluing area, a dot of glue in the center is sufficient. When the crystal is applied, the glue will be evenly distributed in the gluing gap. To glue a single spot, aim the dispensing needle just above the spot to be glued and lift it slowly upwards to avoid any glue spreading out sideways.
With a square or rectangular gluing area, apply a cross of glue to ensure it is evenly spread into the corners.

5. Remove excess adhesive:
After the bonding process, the excess adhesive can be easily removed with a cotton swab soaked in a solvent (e.g. isopropanol).
